Professor Marina Chen This talk gives an overview of my research interests in languages and compilers for parallel computing. Specifically, we outline a new research direction: developing an object-oriented C++ compiler for high performance platforms, allowing class-specific compiler optimizations. Professor Mark Crovella I will describe my ongoing research in performance prediction methods and tools for parallel systems. Our goal is to make performance prediction a practical tool for parallel programmers. To do this we are attempting to automate large portions of the performance modelling process. I'll discuss two methods for automating this process; the first is based on measuring program executions, and the second is based on analyzing program source code.
