		   Jacquard: A Technical Overview

		 Center for High Performance Computing

   Jacquard is a recently initiated ARPA-funded project at the Center for
   High Performance Computing of Worcester Polytechnic Institute that
   implements a high-performance computing and communications fabric using
   commodity PC's and workstations.  Shared memory communication is
   supported via a unique combination of hardware and operating system
   software.  The Jacquard approach also forms the basis for the
   development of highly reliable distributed systems.  This presentation
   will provide an overview of the Jacquard project and architecture.
