Subject: Positions at RTCLab, CIS, NJIT

PLEASE ADVERTIZE THE FOLLOWING JOB OPPORTUNITY

Recently, a Real-Time Computing Laboratory (RTCL) has been established at
the fast growing Department of Computer and Information Science (CIS)
of the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). The RTCL's charter calls
for a gradual development of the RTCL into a nationally- and eventually
internationally-recognized Center of Excellence for Real-Time Computing, over
the next five to ten years.

Currently, four faculty, eight Ph.D. students, twelve M.S. and B.S.
students and two visiting scientists are working at the RTCL. The Lab is home
to six research and technology projects that are supported by NATO, AT&T, AT&T
Foundation, Siemens Corporate Research, the State of New Jersey, the Center
for Manufacturing Systems at NJIT, and the State of New Jersey Sponsored Chair
of Computer Science (occupied by Dr. Erol Gelenbe of the CIS). We are in the
process of negotiating grants with the ONR and the Army, we have applied for
NSF, DARPA and AFOSR grants, and we are discussing collaborative and joint
work with a number of U.S. and international organizations. The RTCL enjoys
very strong backing of the CIS Department and NJIT, which have already provided
it with ample human, budgetary, space, equipment and other resources.

In coordination with the CIS Department, we are anticipating the availability
of one or more positions associated with the RTCL and its research and
technology program. Of these, at least one may be a tenure-track position
at the Assistant Professor level, and at least one other a non-tenure track
Visiting Assistant Professor position. Successful candidates will be expected
to engage in research, teaching and service activities consistent with
the RTCL/CIS norms.

We expect these positions to be filled quickly. To apply, please send a cover
letter (stating your current status in the U.S. and your salary and other
expectations), curriculum vitae and copies of representative publications to:

Subject: Call for contribution to the RTTC bibliography database

As part of the RTTC repository, I am in the process of creating a
Real-Time bibliography database (using BIBTEX). If you would like any
of your papers or technical reports to be included please send me
these references via Email using the appropriate BIBTEX format. If you
have your own BIBTEX database and would like to share it with the rest
of the community, then please send that to me as well. The
Real-time bibliography database will be made available in the
repository (through FTP) in both a BIBTEX raw format and a Postcript
typeset format.
